Working on the cardigan and neglecting my faithful blog readers terribly. So a little sumthin sumthin to tide you over til tomorrow. Remember my girl crush? Martha I think recently wrote about craft vs art. Check out her post here. Good stuff.

I am thinking hard upon what I want to be doing. Reading non~knitting blogs such as WeeWonderfuls, My Little Mochi, Loobylu, Angry Chicken and such has me chasing some serious sewing related skills. I cannot sew on a button. Seriously. Still I ordered some books I discovered via the Chick [scroll down and look at Happy Book and Happy Book #2 there are only 3 books archived in the books section its not a long scroll down] and have spent an inordinant amount of time looking at fabrics. I have even pulled out my old Pieceworks and Fassett's Patchwork&Quilting #1~ purchased as a gift for somebody who disappeared from my life. Seems to me that I not only need to learn how to sew but I need to cozy up to somebody with an obscene stash. The plushie craze is so bad I have been scouring the net for doll patterns and supplies. Til 4 or 5 am every morning. The knitting is slow but I will have FO's soon....

i used to be very good at sewing, making soft sculptures to sell, and after about 7 years of that was very tired of the craft...now, some many years later i bought a sewing machine, even named one of the rooms in the new house 'the sewing room' (which has tons of yarn and a knitting chair in it of course) meaning to add sewing back into my life when we moved here, but haven't been able to stop knitting long enough to begin. hope life is long. i adore fassett's books on quilting (and knitting) haven't looked for fabric on line, bet it is there.

my mom taught me to sew, and my new machine is actually an old singer just like i learned on.

bit of added message from the cat crossing the keyboard, who says it is time to step away from hee and check out how full the cat bowl.

wishing someday to sew and see sewing happening with you...

Hi fellow RAOKer! I know what you mean about wanting to sew. I have a rather nice sewing machine that I spent a fair amount of money for a number of years ago. The machine hasn't seen daylight in at least 5 years. I truly should get it out and do something with it, or dispose of it. I just haven't gotten around to it.

Good luck!

Must be springtime or something, many people seem to be yearning for a new challenge. I'm trying to finish a scarf by Mother's Day. Thanks for mentioning my post!
