To Market, To Market

Busy working on cardigan for Alchemy.... found a minor problem during sewing up so redoing above armhole portions ;^{ Lotsa good mail last week: card from Lolly and silk from Alchemy. Won some fabric and buttons via Evil Beckons All o Ye and snagged a sewing machine at Grams. But the real news is I signed up for some classes at Stitches Midwest. This will be my first year attending. Every year I get the brochures and pour over them astounded by all the knitting knowledge available. The fact that there are so many tempting choices has helped in keeping me away~ I could't decide on this class vs that class but this year only one snafu Latvian Wristers vs Beaded Wristers and I went for the fun vs technical Beaded. Well I am sure there will be techniques just not as many. Why were the two wrister classes at the same time? I remember when socks were all the rage[still are but on outset of sock mania] they offered sock classes every single day not all at same time. Norwegian Purl was full up and that was a maybe since I am a thrower and NP is for pickers still I figured if I learned it I might convert to picking. If your gonna be there and want to meet up shout out. I will be staying in the city with my sis but I plan on hitting the market....

I am:
4%

"You're a complete liberal, utterly without a trace of Republicanism. Your strength is as the strength of ten because your heart is pure. (You hope.)"

Fixed

My camara pluggie thingie the one with tons of prongs keeps getting bent.... pretty soon one of the prongs will break and I will be out of luck in the photography dept. But you don't want to hear all that. You came for some stylin photo so here it is:

Image402.jpg Oh yeah baby. Vogue is calling me right now ;^>

By the way did anybody realize I am a major cookie fiend? I am. When I moved into the house my next door neighbor Lynne H brought over some cookies and we got the recipe from her:

Take 2 sticks of butter that are softenend[room temp] and cream with 1 cup of sugar. Mix together half a teaspoon of vinegar and half a teaspoon of baking soda then add to sugar/butter mixture. Fold in a cup and half of flour. Roll into balls and the balls into some sugar. Flatten slightly and bake in preheated 300 degree oven for 20-25 mins until edges are just starting to turn slightly brown. Takes me 20 in my oven and I get about 18-24 cookies using a common tea spoon[not the measuring teaspoon the stir your coffee and tea spoon] but the recipe says 3-4 dozen. Little morsels of goodness using what you most likely have at hand....

hmmmmmm

Ah so yesterday's photo and discussion of projects was way laid by Ms Eco~terrorist in training... you remember View image">this one. See last week she absconded with a tube of toothpaste and smeared its contents all over my couch. I covered the couch with a comforter while the upholstry covers were being washed. I couldn't help but notice that my work cardigan and the comforter looked rather springy in additioin to matching. A photo op! So yesterday when I went to take the picture ~ everybody notice I have been inspired by the non knitting blogs to think about my pictures and go for a whole setting ~ what should I see? Toothpaste! All over the comforter and heartstoppingly near my work knitting. I washed the comforter and replaced the upholstery covers. I arranged the comforter, cardigan and FOF shawl which made up the weekend knitting for a nice springy picture. A picture that would rival any picture in blogdom. Vogue would wish I was its stylist. Yep a killer photo. It won't load. Maybe tomorrow. Til then be amazed by the wondrous photo. We will deal with reality sometime later....

Flower Power

Image401.jpg

Addictive little buggers. I could knit these day in and day out. The chenille makes for a very plush washcloth and I cannot imagine these in any other fiber. And despite being too old and jaded to believe in hippy dippy love I will admit peace, love and happiness can be found within the flowers. Cherios

A link

Working on the cardigan and neglecting my faithful blog readers terribly. So a little sumthin sumthin to tide you over til tomorrow. Remember my girl crush? Martha I think recently wrote about craft vs art. Check out her post here. Good stuff.

I am thinking hard upon what I want to be doing. Reading non~knitting blogs such as WeeWonderfuls, My Little Mochi, Loobylu, Angry Chicken and such has me chasing some serious sewing related skills. I cannot sew on a button. Seriously. Still I ordered some books I discovered via the Chick [scroll down and look at Happy Book and Happy Book #2 there are only 3 books archived in the books section its not a long scroll down] and have spent an inordinant amount of time looking at fabrics. I have even pulled out my old Pieceworks and Fassett's Patchwork&Quilting #1~ purchased as a gift for somebody who disappeared from my life. Seems to me that I not only need to learn how to sew but I need to cozy up to somebody with an obscene stash. The plushie craze is so bad I have been scouring the net for doll patterns and supplies. Til 4 or 5 am every morning. The knitting is slow but I will have FO's soon....
