Wow, a knitting entry

My family thinks I might have one of every knitting needle in the world. Well, today proves I don't. I decided to start the red circular shawl in Victorian Lace today. You know, the book we all bought in the past 2 months. Naturally, I don't have the needles I need to start it. I decided to do it in size 5 needles (I knit loose) in the alpaca/silk I bought from Webs at Stitches East. Something in me will not allow me to knit laceweight yarn on size 7 needles. It just feels funny to me.

The only size 4 or 5 dps I have are an old set of plastic ones and some really rough wooden ones. Neither of the sets have points. This shawl is lace, so I need points. But, I struggled on, got it ready for a 16" needles, and found that I didn't have a 16" needle that I can find in this size. I DO have the needles I plan to knit most of the sweater on, knitpicks options. I just don't have a way to get there from here. (Actually I just found a 16" that MIGHT work).

Tomorrow is Sunday. My LYS is closed on Sunday. I am HOPING it will be open tomorrow because it is the day before Christmas. After all, although I have a sock to finish (last one for a while), two very nice (but plain) sweaters on the needles and a gorgeous shawl, it is SOOOO important to start this shawl now.

Otherwise I will take time off from work next week.

Still, I find it amazing that I really do need more needles. After all, I have nearly every needle in the world.
