Socks
Somehow or another, I am missing 4 pairs of handknit socks. I know they must be SOMEWHERE in the house, I am just not sure where. So, thinking of fall and winter ahead, I have been knitting socks. Actually, I have been finishing pairs. Knit 2 socks this weekend. Still need to knit another one, but I am not sure if I have enough yarn for it. I am worried that I gave a ball of koigu to morgan.
Having vanquished the dreaded second sock syndrome, I have to decide what socks to knit next. I have a lot of solid color sock yarn, do I knit plain socks (which I usually do, just with nice yarn) or do I do fair-isles, or do I do turkish socks. I love knitting modified turkish socks (I put a flap heel on them), but they are not as fast a knit. I really do knit socks because I have no other option if I want to wear socks. I don't knit lace socks because I want them to last longer than a pair of lace socks typically will. The good thing about fair-isle and turkish socks is that they are warmer. Can you tell that I am trying to talk myself into them? I guess I am.
Other than socks, I am knitting a simple sweater in rowan dk. It took me 2 years to figure out what to do with this yarn (not my favorite). I am not sure if I am going to even finish my eris, it is just toooooo heavy. It might get finished as a winter coat instead.
