There's a sweater in my pocket
Actually, the neckline of a v-neck raglan cardigan. Blue mohair. I was hoping for a darker color, and nicer mohair (this is a mohair/wool combination) but what I really needed was a sweater I could knit in no time at all. I want something to wear to Rhinebeck, and nothing has been knit on for a month. Yah, I will call it depression, but I am also getting my meds changed to deal with it.
Now there is a possibility that I won't be able to go to rhinebeck. Elka will KILL me if this happens. It depends on what happens in the next week. I am hoping to bring a consulting contract into the company, and thus keep my job. I like it here, it is close to my house, and I can do good things. Of course, if they decide that they are not going to do java and cmmi, I don't know what they will do. Wish me luck, I really really want to stay here. It now depends on people I have never met in Seattle.
Mg is going to become totally weird until I get a job. I have a history of very long layovers between jobs, I don't interview well. I am also in my 50's and a woman. Neither of these attributes help in high tech. I hate looking for work, and I get nervous talking to strangers. My resume does look very good now, and I have some amazing references. I also have a shitload of opensource software to write while between jobs, which will hopefully keep my name in play.
Back to the sweater. I have knit this sweater so many times I can knit it in my sleep. I don't know what I will do for the neckline-button band yet - but, I can guarantee, it will not be in blue mohair/wool. There will also be no ribbing on the cuffs (I hate tight cuffs). There will be ribbing on the bottom.
If I had a camera I would take pictures. Until then, this is simply a pictureless blog - unless mg gives me his camera.
I do have something to celebrate - Tom Delay has been indicted - yahoooooooo.
